Happy New Year!

Ah, yes, Happy New Year, when we've almost hit April!  =)  I've been dreading starting to blog again, as I just didn't know where to start!  I decided to try to finish up the end of December, and part of our time with the S-G family, as well as our trip to Monterrey Seedsowers.
Christmas dinner with the S-G family.  We had SO much fun together, and although it was short, I feel like we became close friends quickly.

On our way to Monterrey Seedsowers

We crossed the border into the US, drove to Texas, and then down into Mexico to Monterrey.
We made it to the hotel in good time.  Seeing lots of good friends, and meeting new ones.

At the event center where we ate, packed texts, had devotions, and also had the meetings at night.

The kitchen ladies. Carmen, Verlynda, Shelley, Eunice and Mariu - I think just Maricruz is missing that helped in the kitchen.  There were just a few of us, but we had a great time!

The last day, most people headed down to the lake, where they took a ferry tour and walked around.

We left with the S-G's and Matthew T and headed up to Texas to spend New Year's eve with Ross V, and the small assembly there.  That's where we would finally part with S-G family as they would be staying on, and then continuing their "Gap Year" trip (check out that link to see their blog), and we would be heading home.
Nata latched on to Matthew and wouldn't let go.  Thankfully Matthew is used to lots of kids, and patiently endured him.  =)

New Year's Eve everyone played fun games and ate yummy food and finished off with some fireworks, Texas-style.  We had a nice time, but we mostly just stayed late so the older girls could enjoy time with the other.  Tim and I were so ready to hit the hay when we got to the hotel.  Here are some pics of the fun:

Cassia - Shaelyn's face beside hers is so hilarious, though

We very much enjoyed meeting and being with the believers there, both Saturday night, and Sunday morning.  Ross took us all out for lunch Sunday after meeting, then we said good bye to him and the guys he has staying with him, and went to check out the S-G's trailer we had heard so much about.  It was neat to see, and extremely hard to say good bye.  Somehow I missed getting any good pics of our families, but I think they're out there somewhere - just need to find them.  Here's one last one of Verlynda and I Sunday morning.

That's it for now.  Will try to get back and post on the rest of January, soon!  =)

Happy 40th Birthday, my Tim!!

Today is my Tim's 40th Birthday!!  I asked him if it bothered him that I was emphasizing the 40 so much, but he said no, that my birthday is next year and he gets the last word.  =)

Timber, I am so grateful for the 40 years the Lord has blessed you with, and that I have been blessed to walk these last 15 along side you!

I pray that the Lord will continue to bless you and direct you.  That you will be moldable clay within His hands as He desires to make you more like His Son.  I pray that, as great as the first 40 years were, that the next 40 will be even better.

I love you, my Tim!  Happy Birthday!  XO

Trip to Canada 2016 - 1

Hello from Wichita, KS!  We have reached the first destination of our trip, and are staying with Tim's sister and family for a few days.

We left early Monday morning at 430am, had lunch in Phoenix, and reached Albuquerque, NM, the first night.  We arrived here about 730pm last night.  Adventures in Odyssey, books, snacks and some videos kept us occupied for a lot of that time.

We had a yummy supper after we arrived and the kids hit the floor running with their cousins and had a blast until bedtime.  This morning we went and spent some time at a community pool (which we had all to ourselves!), and everyone had a great time!  Looking forward to enjoying the next 2 days here before heading our way again.
